Jennifer Stefanac and Tucky Tania Cooley believe that all children are our
future, their health and development is everybody’s business.
However, the significant health gap between Indigenous and Non
Indigenous Australians continues to grow as Indigenous people fail
to have access to primary health care services.
Tackling the health and early development needs of Indigenous
children and their families must be given a high priority for any
government committed to improving life outcomes.
To have a health care system that is fair and equitable.
We believe that education is the corner stone to developing and
equipping Indigenous and Non Indigenous Australians to assure their
and the Nation's future.
Education is widely recognised as the key to promoting
reconciliation in a broader sense. It provides the tools and the
self esteem for young people to triumph over disadvantage in all
areas of their lives including health, housing and employment.
Despite many education initiatives implemented by the Commonwealth
and State governments over the past 20 years, Indigenous students
continue to be the disadvantaged student group in Australia.
