Health

Jennifer Stefanac and Tucky Tania Cooley believe that all children are our future, their health and development is everybody’s business.

However, the significant health gap between Indigenous and Non Indigenous Australians continues to grow as Indigenous people fail to have access to primary health care services.

Tackling the health and early development needs of Indigenous children and their families must be given a high priority for any government committed to improving life outcomes.

To have a health care system that is fair and equitable.

 Education

We believe that education is the corner stone to developing and equipping Indigenous and Non Indigenous Australians to assure their and the Nation's future.

Education is widely recognised as the key to promoting reconciliation in a broader sense. It provides the tools and the self esteem for young people to triumph over disadvantage in all areas of their lives including health, housing and employment.

Despite many education initiatives implemented by the Commonwealth and State governments over the past 20 years, Indigenous students continue to be the disadvantaged student group in Australia.

Economic Management

Better economic development opportunities will offer real scope for addressing many of the broad range of problems that face Indigenous communities, such as; unemployment, reduced health, education and housing outcomes. Effective money management is particularly important in remote communities because they face higher prices, high transport costs and strong pressure to share their income resulting in social disadvantage not experienced in the wider community.

Environment

That all Australians both Indigenous and Non Indigenous work together in this vital area that impacts on our global village.

We recognise the importance of developing a sustainable plan to manage the environment and the growing Australian society. We are committed to the environment as essential to ensuring the future sustainability of our unique Australia.

We acknowledge the necessity of Government partnerships with the Indigenous Communities and their abilities to work with Industry, Science and Agriculture. This is critical in assessing environmental changes facing Australia today.

Jennifer and Tucky will support research and funding in the areas of Alternative Energy, Recycling, Technology for Waste Management and Economic Management to ensure that Australia has a balanced ecosystem.

Security

Our Nation’s security is of vital importance and has both a domestic and international dimension. We are committed to appropriate security which is essential for both Indigenous and Non Indigenous families to be safe.

We are committed to having the adequate means and support for our Defence Forces to provide state of the art security and protection for our community.

We are committed to winning the war on terror and acknowledge the need to carefully deploy our Armed Forces in cooperation with the International Community.

We will support the strengthening, capacity and improvement of the protection of our borders in an orderly and compassionate manner and will foster sustainable increases in the level of Australian overseas aid.

Jennifer and Tucky believe that the use of force must only be taken when all other avenues have been exhausted including diplomatic, after a full consideration and analysis has been undertaken. This includes strengthening the efficiency of Australia’s Intelligence Services.

Justice

Jennifer and Tucky believe in the principles of access and equity and the rights of Indigenous and Non Indigenous people to live in a just and secure society. We acknowledge that more needs to be done to ensure that Indigenous people enjoy the same advantages and opportunities as all other Australian

Employment

We believe that good economic management is the key to ensuring access to employment and business opportunities so that Indigenous and Non Indigenous Australians can share in the wealth that our local economy generates.

We believe that all Australians have the right to access fulltime employment.

We recognise that growth in access to employment and business opportunities is the key to ensure that all Australians are able to share equitably in the wealth and income generated by our economy. Sound macro-economic management policies together with specific policies aimed at growing jobs and reducing constraints on the development and growth of small business.

Jennifer and Tucky believe the best strategy for jobs and prosperity includes;

  • Supporting the role of small business as the engine room of job generation

  • Encouraging competitive markets by restricting monopoly and prohibiting unfair trading practices

  • Building a better taxation system which enhances fairness and incentive to work and save

  • Minimising the regulatory burden on business consistent with protecting consumers, the environment and the safety of all workers

  • Ensuring industrial policy which maximises Australia’s competitive advantage

  • Boosting technological development and innovation

  • Giving all Australians the opportunity to invest in or create their own business

  • Ensuring that all Australians have the choice to access unions and professional associations

  • Making Australia an attractive destination for global investment

  •
